HONING YOUR TOOLKIT: Tying your goals and your school's mission to necessary resources

April 17, 2014

10:00am - 3:00pm

Collegiate School

Diversity practitioners need to be strategic in their efforts to create change in their schools. Critical self-reflection at the individual and institutional levels to better understand where you are and where you are headed are necessary first steps in this process; without this, the intentionality and sustainability of said change hangs in the balance. Utilizing the school’s mission to justify work, considering a plan for short and long term growth, as well as assessing for resources and barriers are critical to success. Throughout the day participants will assess and plan in the areas of admissions, hiring, school climate, and curriculum as a way to begin thinking about a comprehensive diversity plan that meets the needs of their school. This session is open to all educators and administrators.
