NAIS states in their Principles of Good Practice that member schools should work to “create and sustain diverse, inclusive, equitable, and just communities that are safe and welcoming for all.” The steps we all take to move in that direction vary from school to school, but the call to achieve that open, welcoming environment is universal. While attending the annual VAIS conference, join board members of the Virginia Diversity Network – all educators from VA independent schools – who will offer perspectives from their journey toward inclusion and facilitate exploration into how you can help your school take the next step.
